Guest Night_rider_383
Has anyone here used the K&N stubstack? Does it help hp, torque, e/t, mph, or even mpg any? I would like to hear any and all opinions, and 1st hand test... Thanks John
denny411
I aquired one from a friend that had mixed results with it. He decided to just go with a larger carb and save his hood clearance. he never had the car dyno tuned, but he may have had better results if he had. It was just too hard to tell by the seat of the pants method.
Guest Nic-Rebel450CA
According to K&N's site, Hot Rod magazine tested it and noticed about a 10HP difference between stock with a paper filter and a K&N filter with the stubstack. Since the K&N filter change itself is good for about 10HP then I would say the stubstack makes little to no difference. (Maybe 1 or 2HP). denny411
The purpose of the stub stack is to fool the carb into thinking it is bigger. This would only help if your engine was under carbureted, but I think you would still have to rejet to see some(if any) improvement.
Guest Night_rider_383
Thanks guys for the info. Like I said I just wanted to see other's thoughts on the stub stack before I made up my mind to lay down the money. From what I read so far I don't think it would be worth the money to me.
