Guest Anonymous
I know I'm a little off topic but please bare with me. I need any info you guys can come up with on a BMW 6 Series - Chevy LS1 conversion. I 've got a super nice 87 6'er with a bad engine and a complete 2001 Camaro drive train (LS1 + 6 speed). Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! chappy
80LS1T
Well welcome aboard .........but you do know that this is a Datsun Z/ZX enthusiast site right? Guy
DavyZ
Chappy, I have only seen one BMW 6 seried with a Ford 302 conversion. They claimed it was very fast. I assume yours will be faster! I can't help you with further info except to say similar things have been done. This is just going to take some time and fabrication. This would make for one of the ultimate setups in my opinion. Good luck! Davy

Guest Nic-Rebel450CA
Anything is possible with the necessary skills. I think we can all safely assume that there isnt going to be a kit, so about the best we can do is say "Good Luck" as it is going to be a one-of-a-kind setup that you are going to have to fabricate every step of the way. fastzcars
Hi Chappy48. I was thinking the same thing this pass weekend, when I saw a 2 door 6 or 7 series drive by me , Man that is a very good looking car. Now you got me thinkin. : Phantom has a LS1 in his car. Johns Car's would be the first call I would make. Good luck,

Hee hee, the 8 series would have no need for an LS1
fastzcars
So true Rebel. A V12 in that 8 series does make that car move. I was thinking along the line of an engine fire or a worn out drivetrain, to swap in an LS1. Man A BMW V12 rebuild would cost a small fortune. Just thinkin outloud. Guest jwelch
The 8 Series is nice but not very many around. I was looking at buying a used one. Stock was about 370+ HP and 400 ft/lbs with the 6spd. They can be had for around 20-25K. Not bad considering the original cost of 80K. I still prefer the Hybrid Z though! Jay1970Z
I've been looking for information on a possible LS1 swap for my E36 325i. Its got 115k miles on it and still going strong so I'm in no rush, but man would that thing be a monster
