Guest zfan
Well Guys it was worse than I thought I g-teched it four times tonite. Did not get it to hook up at all, had to get on it from idle only even then bad traction. Could get no better than upper 13's with a best mph of 108! Really dissapointed in the car and will swap cam, intake on saturday. If no big improvement is seen I am going to crap on the 350 and go 383. My friend has a supercharged 383 capable of mid 10's and he is willing to help me build it at his shop. Mike
Kevin Shasteen
Gearhead240Z, I'ld be more than happy to crunch any numbers that I am capable of crunching. I've seen your other thread about DD2000 on the Chevy Forum requesting info on your set up...I'll be asking any questions on that thread: KO?(OK?) Mike, When you say "You could not even get it to hook up" and are displeased in that you only ran 13's; are your referring to "Lack of Traction"? If you have lack of traction-then the engine is not your problem; traction is your problem! A 383 is going to have even more low rpm torque-AKA: Less Traction if you dont first solve your traction problems that you currently are experiencing now. Puzzled; give us more description of what you mean by "Lack of Traction". Kevin, (Yea,Still an Inliner)
DavyZ
Mike, thanks!!! Sorry to hear about the power woes, though; hopefully it'll all get sorted out inexpensively. Davy
Guest zfan
Kevin, The Edelbrock heads I have are #6089. They are straight plug 64cc heads with 170cc inatake runners. 60cc exhaust runners,64cc chamber volume,1.60/2.02. valve spring diameter with 9/16 deck thickness. Im looking at two zz4 hyd. cams. First is a 208Int/221Exh....474Int./510Exh. with 112 lobe sep. This is with 1.50 roller rockers. Said to make 385 horsepower and 415 ft.lbs torque with my set up. Second cam is also a zz4 cam with 218Int/228Exh....525/525 with 1.60 roller rockers and makes 430 horsepower with my set up. Also makes 430 ft. pounds torque. Again I called engine builder and he said 10.25 to 1 compression, pistons are flat top four valve relief with thin gaskets. I have the opertunity to trade my 750 for a holley avenger carb that is new in the box. I am still looking at stealth duel plain maniflod with this set up. Kevin Shasteen
Davy, Are you forgetting the 4th or was it the 5th commandment of the Hot Rodder's Ten Commandments: "Thou Shalt Not Covet another Rodders Intake Manifold" shame, shame, shame on you!
