Guest Thurem
A few days ago a vacuum line fell off the carb on my truck. I got that problem fixed quickly cause the idle was racing away. But since then it has been soaking #2 plug with gas and it wont run for more than a few minutes (before soaking plug) on #2. Have checked the cap and wires, visually, looks OK. Havent´ done a compression or leakdown on that cyl yet, but would appreciate any thoughts on where to look. Truck is a 79 chevy 3/4ton 4 wheel drive. Motor is a stock 350 and has the quadrajet carb. Thanks for any help Thure

Tim240z
Dammit, I lost the entire post...here is the condensed version. Take out the plug and hook it up to teh wire...lay it on teh engine and fire up the truck. Check for spark. You will also be able to hear if the cylinder has pressure. make sure that the plug is against something metal to ground it. How is Mexi treating you? Guest Thurem
It´s got spark, it will run smoothly for a few minutes with a new plug. Mexico is allright, except try getting anything done involving a public institution, bueurocrazy(why is there no spellchecker built in here) from hell. We have been waiting almost a month to get a phone installed. They want 3 personnal references to open a checking account, trip to three different offices to get a drivers licence ( or buy the form with all the required endorsements for 200 pesos, from the local sleazebag). It goes on and on. Had the shop open for 2 days now. Later Thure
