kalium99
Hi all, I've got some really ricey sideskirts on my 260z(no, I didnt put them on), and Im trying to take them off. I undo the screws, but the skirts is held on by black sealant/sticking(im sure thats not the correct term) and if I try to just pull it off the sideskirt will crack. I dont want to ruin it as I would like to sell it, how can I get it off?? Cheers
TomoHawk
Why not put some solvent on the seam to get it to soften a little? Only as long as your skirts aren't made of plastic. A strong solvent might affect fiberglass too. Use caution.
blueovalz
depending on the situation, if the sealant is along the entire back edge, a flexible wire saw (similar to piano wire) can be pulled from front to back cutting the sealant as you pull it backward with the ends of the wire above and below the panel to be removed.
