Removing the defroster elements in the rear glass.

Is this possible without damaging or scarring the glass? I figure a razor blade across the inside surface of the glass, but wanted to see if anyone else has done this....

I want to get the rear glass and the two 1/4 windows tinted and I won't ever be using the defroster.

Thanks...

Tim

It's just put on with adhesive. Use a hair dryer or a heat gun and slowly work with a razor blade. Then use some Goof Off or another adhesive remover to get rid of the crap left over. If the guy does a really good job tinting your windows, you'll hardly be able to tell that there are defrosters under the tint.

I've seen many bad tinting jobs on the rear window and when the defroster is turned on, the air that wasn't removed expands under the tint and you get some nasty bubbles.
