Guest The Nick
Hey guys, I'm sorry if this has been asked a million times, but I tried a search and couldn't really find a straight answer. Here is the deal. I currently own an 88 Mustang LX 5.0 with a complete TFS setup. I got screwed with a smog ticket last night so I'm looking for smog exempt alternatives. I don't imagine any trouble finding a 240 rolling chassis, but I need to know how difficult it is to get the 302 to fit right and work. I've checked out some of the users' websites on here and it seems that there is a lot of custom work that needs to be done, where as some companies make kits to transfer a SBC right in. So, I guess my two questions are: A) How much custom fab work are we talking about to make a SBF mount and sit properly. Also, it'll be matted with a T-5. Are there any companies that offer the conversion kits for the SBF like Motorsport Auto makes for the SBC. Thanks in advance and sorry again if this is a repeat question. Pathogen
The search will get you started. Nobody makes a conversion kit for the SBF. Hybridz member 'alsil' makes the crossmember that you can use with first gen mustang motor mounts and you then you still need to deal with all the rest of problems.
