Guest Anonymous
Oldsmobile? A running Oldsmobile 350 V8 and transmission with a shift kit on it for a hundred bucks. I want to go for it, but I can't remember if it's a Chevy smallblock, or if someone else made it. Not used to these older American cars. Guest Anonymous
Depends on the year, later on GM started using corporate GM small blocks I think that were chevy design, there was a big flap about it when they did it. Shouldn't be hard to tell, if your not sure what they look like, theres plenty of pictures of small block chevys on the net. Guest Anonymous
Find someone with a known 350 or small block Chevy and compare it side by side with the engine in the Olds. The Olds block should be a little wider and the valve covers should point more to the fenders than the hood.Does it have a 3 speed or 4 speed over drive tranny? I agree,It could be a Chevy but Olds made millions of 350 engines.Like Lone mentions, Get some pictures off the internet and compare. Get the block casting number on the upper engine side of the bell housing on the driver's side of the car and compare it to Moretec.com's casting numbers for chevy's.About every chevy I have seen has a casting number here telling the size of the engine. Guest Anonymous
Mr. Grump. LOL Chevy valve covers have 4 bolts on each side and olds has more. If I can remember that. Good thing I have 4 fingers on each hand to keep track of the count.I am bound and determined to find a 350SBC with overdrive tranny in a direlect BOP. I was getting ready to modify my dangerous garage sale purchased 3 wheeled engine stand per your instructions. I pulled the stand out and it was a four wheeler. Must have have mis counted one finger in the process. I will double check the count in a few days when my head clears up. Chebby has four.... and .... the stand hs
