Guest JAMIE T
Hey guys, any of you auto body/paint guys know what is the tempature range for spraying PPG DP primer? It's in the 50's in Richmond these days and I want to get it primed ASAP.
datsunlover
Take a look on the side of the can.. it should say what temp's its good between. A friend of mine says it should work though 50 is at the lower end of the range.. any colder and it will do strange things.
Guest freakypainter
it should spray fine just use the lowest temp reducer like DT865. give it a little longer between coats and it will take longer to dry in such cold temps. You could always rent a propane space heater to heat up your garage, then shut it off (you wouldnt want an open flame while spraying) then after the over spray clears out fire it back up. Guest JAMIE T
Thats exactly what I needed to know, thanks Racer X. We will have a couple of high 60's low 70's days this coming week, I'll schedule to spray it then.
