Phyte
I'm trying to buy a set of ronal wheels that are no longer in production. The wheels are 16x7.5 with a 19mm offset 4x114.3 pattern. The 19mm offset is too much for a stock 260z lowered an inch? Phyte
z-ya
19mm = ~0.75 inch. Given an overall width of 8.25", your back space will be around 4.875". Depending on what width tire you run, you will probably have problems with the tire hitting the lower spring perch unless you have coilovers. With coilovers they should clear. I was hoping to run a 225/40/16 tire. This size is the last they have in stock, but if I have to buy coil overs just to run these wheels then forget that! How close are we talking here? Dont some people run an 8" wide wheel with a 5" back spacing without hitting? EDIT: Would running a 1/2" spacer do the trick? Phyte

z-ya
People runnig 8" rims with a 5" backspace do have coilovers. I'd go with adapters, then your wheel options are endless. I have a set that might be for sale. Also, check out modern motorsports, they sell some real nive quality ones for a good price: http://www.modern-motorsports.com Pete
Phyte
Ok guys I'm fixing to order the wheels. I need to know what spacer I need and will it work? I don't want to spend $400 and find out that they won't work! Would a 1/2 spacer or 3/4 spacer be ideal. I think the 3/4 would get me really close to 0mm offset right? These wheels are discontinued so I have to order them now if I want them! Phyte
Guest Cusp
The best advice if you really really want these wheels/tires is to buy them, balanced and mount the tires, and just stick them on your car. get a BIG handful of washers ready, and find out what the best size spacer is for you. It's not as hard as you might think. Just start with about half an inch thick of washers on each stud and see if thats right. Give yourself a little room for spring compression, as they do flex outward under heavy cornering. This sounds hokey, but no two cars are alike, and no two brands of tires or rims come out exactly the same size. Doing it this way eliminates the guesswork.
