Guest johnny1913
I have an opportunity for a free 1990ish Mitsubishi Eclipse, but the only thing I know about it is that it doesn't run (it's a friend's sister's roommate's car, so I heard it through the grape-vine). I know it's not a Z and I am sorry for that. I just want some tests that I can perform on the car when I finally check it out in person. I am going to do things like try to see if it will turn over, if it will start but not stay running, if any sounds come out when I turn the key, etc. Are there any other tests you guys can think of? -Nate
Dayz
Even if it's an eclipse, it's always good to have a car that you can go rally with and leave it ther when it dies. Ok go there with a charge batterie so you can try to sart the engine. - Turn it over buy hands, if it turns, that is a good start. -Check if you have fuel, or bring some fuel and put some in the intake (a little) - Check if you have a spark when you crank the engine with the batterie. -If you do everything, it should start. Remember, a motor needs air/fuel, spark at a good time and it will run. It it starts, let it go like that. Maybe the fuel pump died and she just left it there !! Good luck, love those project Dayz
Guest johnny1913
Thanks for the info. I called on Thanksgiving weekend to go check it out and he said that they had already given it away. A week earlier and I would have had it. Oh well, leaves more money for the Datsun.
