hiromino
my rear carb is outputting tou much gas, mixture knob is turned all the way in, but still a lot of gas in carb. i am not sure but may be the float is too high and gas pressure is high to output more gas than needed. if so, how you adjust it? or is it something else? thankyou
Guest Nic-Rebel450CA
The float is not likely to be the problem. To adjust the float you would just take the float bowl lid off and check to make sure that the tab is engaging the valve at the right point. Just turn the cap upside down and measure the edge of the top of the float and make sure it is about 13mm from the underside of the cap at the point that the metal tab of the float engages the valve to close it. While you are in there though, you might as well rebuild the carb because the problem that you are most likely having is that the valve is probably damaged and is stuck open. You can check this with the lid off by blowing back against the valve and push it closed and see if you can still hear your air blowing through. The rebuild kits can be found for about $15 or $55 from ZTherapy if you want to spend more money for the heck of it.
