spdsk8r
The setback with the extra bend is on the drivers side. The spacing is 1.38" for the passenger side and 2.25" for the drivers side. I hope this helps. Rick
Guest Anonymous
Need help! A clarification is in order. The dimensions quoted brings up a another "contradiction found in the JTR Manual" (which there are a few). My Seventh Edition lists 5/16 ths flat bar for the setback plate material with a driver's side spacer of 2 1/4 and a passenger side spacer of 1 1/4 inch. I have found that the same 7th edition has differences (or errors) among the copies. As for my Seventh Edition dimensions for set back plate Grade 8 bolt sizes; Passenger side (3)-3/8-16 UNC X 3 1/2 ".... (2)-3/8-16 UNC X 1 1/4" Driver's side (3)-3/8-16 UNC X 4 1/2".... (3)-3/8-16 UNC X 1 1/4 "
Guest Anonymous
To further give you something to chew on, JTR gives a diagram on trimming the chevy mount to clear a bolt hole in the setback plate. If you just put the spacer between the motor mount and the setback plate instead of between the engine and the setback plate, no mod of the motor mount is required. Just thought I'd pass that along, I've seen it done both ways and it doesn't make a bit of difference outside of less work the way I suggested to do it. Regards, Lone Ps: The engine is tilted toward the passenger side and the larger spacer is on the drivers side.
