Guest lamar32
recently I installed a spearco small intercoller thats good for about 300Hp according to there charts, a new walboro fuel pump, a 240sx tb and ported the intake manifold to match, also a new dawes boost controller. On my 1972 240z turbo. So I uped the boost to 10 psi and the car seems to run fine but now i'm getting awful fumes in the car I took it to the drag strip and a 14.02, I think it could of ran about a 13.8 if I had some drag radials. I kept spinning the tires. so do you think the time is fast enough for the mods I have or should it be faster everything else is stock except for the 2 1/2" downpipe and the 3" presbent exhaust. also when I installed the fuel pump the fuel pressure regulator in the back above the pump I turned the nut on top of it about 1 full turn counterclockwise in hopes of maybe uping the pressure. I don't even know if this thing is adjustable so do you think thats why the fumes are so bad. Thanks
Lockjaw
That is not a regulator, that is like a little surge device, when fuel pumps pump, they surge, and supposedly you can feel that when driving, which is what this device is supposed to dampen. The fuel pressure regulator is on the fuel rail, and it is not ajustable, unless you compress it, but I would not recommend that, you are asking to have a trashed regulator. JWT has a bosch one for about 100 bucks that is adjustable, but if you have a stock pump, you need to upgrade that too.
