Guest Anonymous
Hey everyone I'm knew to Cars and motors but I do have a 1971 Chevy Nova with a v8. And I have been doing a lot of work to it lately but just tonight I moved it maybe 30 ft turned her off and tried starting her back up and she would start. She turns over but it just seems like she won't pop. I was curious if anyone had any ideas as to what could cause this. The only things I can think of is maybe a vacuum leak in the valve covers cause I see a nice puddle of oil or maybe gas isn't getting were it needs to cause I have an adapter for my monster q-jet. Any help would be awesome and goodluck to everyone with there project cars!
Tim240z
Could be one of a dozen things! Remember, an engine needs 1. compression 2. Spark, and 3. fuel to fire up. Since it's unlikely that the compression has all of a sudden disappeared, check to see if you're getting fuel and spark. Pull the aircleaner off and pump the linkage on the carb while looking down the barrels..see if fuel is squirting. Check if you are getting spark at the plugs. Check that the distributor is tight and hasn't moved. Other than that we would need more info on what your setup is. Tim
