Will 225 50 15 Bridgestones fit 280ZXT?

I couldn't get the straight dope on Bridgestone S-03's from Tire Rack...seems like they were able to tell me the REARS would fit, but they couldn't tell me if I'd have problems with the fronts! Will this sizing vs. stock (205 60 15) throw off my speedo substantially?

Thanks

John

Yeah it will speed up your speedo by a few MPH. The 225 is really wide for a 15 x 6 wheel. You will notice mushy handling with such a fat tire. Front/Rear wheels on 280zx are the same, you can rotate as you wish with no problems, as long as you dont get directional tires. 205 60 15 is a great street/toruing tire IMO. I would try another supplier if they cant meet your needs.

The 225 50's wont throw the speedo off that much, only 2.275 miles faster, ie if you were going 60mph you would be actually going only 57.725 mph

As for putting 225's on stock wheels I wouldnt go that route. If you want a stiffer wall then go to a 205 55 . I would have to agree with David Karey that the 205 60 is a good size and I dont see nothing wrong with it.

Its widely available in all sorts of speed ratings and from many companys. Its a good tire for the stock wheel.

I'm not so sure about your last assumption about a wide variety of tires in 205 60 15. AFAICT, there's absolutely NOTHING in an ultra-high performance summer tire, and not much in ultra high all season tires in that size (Michelin, Pirelli and Sumitomo!). One has to be prepared to step up to 16 by 7 wheels to get top quality rubber, and with a car like ours, that implies new springs, struts and god knows what else, less the car be rubbing against the rubber due to the OEM suspension's diving propensity, at least in North American OEM settings.

John-83 280ZXT-an intercooled weenie without proper rubber!
