Guest jjohart
The other day, I was given a ride home in a Bronco or similar with air bag suspension added on. Since I am thinking of suspension upgrades this spring, and I formerly thought air suspension was for low rider ricey drag trash, I was wondering what, if anything, an "air bag conversion" would offer, other than being able to raise and lower the car (which I thought could only be done through way more expensive hydraulic systems, like Range Rover). Is there any point in doing such work on my car, since I like the stock shocks and struts better than the idea of coilovers or super firm Toxicos and the like? I mean, it might be nice to save my front spoiler from parking bumps, and put it down for cruising, but obviously not necessary..which brings to mind the complexity of the old 300ZX suspension electronic control damping...why hasn't this been added to older Z's...was it not worth the time of day/unreliable, etc? Thanks John
auxilary
cost, impracticality, extra support. don't forget the weight of the compressors to drive the airbags. You might just want to look for progressive rate springs and KYB shocks
