SPRINGS FORWARD OR FALL BACK?

Hi..I've already determined that my 83 280ZX Turbo 2 + 2 could use a new set of shocks and AT LEAST rear springs. I've got a good deal on d/c'd Koni semi-adjustables, and also found a good price on Moog springs which are compatible. The question is whether I should change the front springs, or just buy the rears...since the whole unit has to be taken out in front just to put the shocks in, there's no labor penalty to doing the springs in front, just the question of whether it's necessary to buy the fronts.

Put as easily as I can, I guess its a question for someone on this list to tell me if its a reasonable assumption that, if the rear springs have sagged to the point that the car rides LOW in the back, that the fronts have settled as well (car has 49K miles). My mechanic said "try just the rear springs if you like..the fronts have much higher tolerances and rates". That may be, but would anyone tell me its a waste of money (about $125 for the front springs) to buy the front springs NOW, or is it more of a waste to have to buy them and pay a couple hours addt'l labor in the future if they're trashed in the near future (next couple of years)?

Whatever...take an opinion!

Thanks

John
