Whats the difference between the 93' LT1's and the 94-97 LT1

Recommended Posts

Ok, I know that the 93 LT1's did not have the reprogrammable computers and that they were Speed Density systems but what else is different?

The reason I am asking is because I see all these parts for the 94-97's and not too many for the 93's...and guess what? I have a 93'!

I was wondering if things like the cam and throttle bodys were the same or not?

Can someone please give me some guidence???

Thanks a lot! :D:D2thumbs.gif

92-93 and 94-97

intake & fuel rail diferent but it work if you have both from the same year.

92-93trouttle body diferent in the accelator cable and the transmission kick down cable {if you go stick don't worry}

92-94cam,distributor,timing cover,timing chain .diferent because new design in the optic spark{distributor}if you buy new cam just need to cut the pin on the cam like 1/4 inch and it fit perfect.]

block is the same so are the heads

95-97piston and rod just ligther

i also have a 93 and i like it better i think is stronger but that just my opinion

if you are going to swap ecu just get the newer ecu and a air flow meter with matching harness.to swap to a new optic spark you the newer timing cover,timing chain ,the little cam pin.then it will fit.you can run the newer ecu on the 93 lt1 just remenber that the 93 has smaller fuel injector. my friend just used the new dit cap and rotor from a 95 in his 93 z28
