73240ZT
Any taughts about using a fuel pump form a 1985 gsl-se rx7 on a 280zx turbo motor? I am running 10 psi with an IC. I believe the rx7 F.P has a feed capacity of 1700cc/min and an output of 50-71 psi. I believe the idle pressure is 37 psi.( according to the Haynes Manual) I am looking for a reasonable price fuel pump upgrade for my 73' 240zt. Thanks ,Kenny
Roggaman
1700cc/min is 102litres/hour: that's god for somewhere around 200bhp... I wouldn't go for that solution. Your idle fuel pressure depends on your FPR and not on the pump. Look at an older Porsche or a big engined BMW instead, if u want a good used (cheap) fuel pump. slownrusty
The RX7 GSL-SE was a 130hp car. I cannot see the gains of using that fuel pump on a L28ET. I would say your best bet (best bang for the buck) is probably the MSD external fuel pump. A few guys on here are running one and getting great results from them. Jim Wolf also recommends this MSD pump as well. I just upgraded to the Walboro 255lph pump and did a decent write up, do a search under the "Turbo & Supercharger" section. Hope the helps - Yasin
