Guest chucklaw33
Has anyone custom made their own BW T5 driveshaft for their 240zt conversion. I have a 71 240z, and im puttin in a 83 nissan turbo motor with the stock nissan BW T5 tranny. I was wondering what had to be done with the driveshaft to make it work. Twentyfourouncer
In my early 260z I had to have the driveshaft shortened (about an inch, could be different on yours), and I needed to replace the front flange on my differential (3.7 LSD R200) to match the pattern on the driveshaft. Garrett76Zt
Ditto. My driveshaft shop shortened and balanced mine for just over $100 and had it done within 24 hrs.
mobythevan
I installed the T-5 into my 73 240z. I used the 73 240z driveshaft and the shop shortened the shaft around an inch. they also got me a new slip yoke that fit the 240z driveshaft u-joint and worked with the T-5.
