Guest the_dj
I need new headers to fit my new heads. What about these angle plug "tight tuck block huggers"? Anyone know what size tubes they are? Will they fit? Are the worth it? Anyone know of other angle plug block huggers (note the way the collector is formed on the two types if you don't know the difference)? http://www.thermaltechcoatings.com/new_headers.htm
Guest zfan
I used Sanderson Headers on my camel hump angle plug heads. They worked fine, I sold them to Davy a member here, they also worked fine with straight plugs as well. Give them a call, warning they are not cheap. Just remember you get what you pay for and Sanderson quality is the best I have seen. Mike
Mike kZ
I used headers from Zig's at: http://www.zigsstreetrods.com/zigs.html Go to "headers" then scroll down to RW37. Those headers you showed look like they would tuck closer to the block, mine stick out form the block a bit.
Guest the_dj
I have a 280Z. Here is a picture of the engine bay (best I have): http://www.djss.net/carpics/engine.jpg Any clue if it will work without steering modifications?
MYRON
DJ, You have to be careful with header selection when you go with the angle plug heads. I originally purchased some inexpensive block huggers from summit. After I had the engine in position and mounted solid with the cheap headers (and plenty of clearance)I tried to install the plugs...NO GO... I then had to buy some headers that had the two center pipes just opposite of how the summit's were. Then I had to raise the engine up to clear the stearing shaft. Mike has the best solution in adding another Ujoint to re-route the stearing shaft around the different header... Myron
Guest the_dj
Sanderson...whoa expensive. 375 for coated 1 5/8" MIKE: Did you have ANY installation issues with the Zigs or did they go right in? What's your opinion of the quality? Any reason *not* to go with them? Thanks, Sam
Mike kZ
They are really good quality headers. But they were in the way of my steering rod, so I added a u-joint in the middle, not a big deal. It depends where your engine is sitting. Guest the_dj
I'm going to order the headers from up there in my first post later today (Friday). I'll let you know how they fit when I get them. Sam
Mike kZ
If you look at the differences of the pipes, the ones you want to buy will work better because the outer pipes are welded into the middle pipes making them closer to the block. The upper pic is what I have and they stick out further. I would buy the thermaltech ones if I had to do it again.
Guest bluex_v1
For what its worth, the sbf headers look exactly like flowtechs...I wouldn't be surprised if they are just reselling them with their own coatings.
