Guest ON3GO
well today was the 1st day of my new project im helping on. my friend here has a 2000 or 1999 im not sure Civic SI, that blue color.. all stock looking except for the carbon fiber hood. It has a jackson Racing Supercharger and alot of other things.. but a week or so ago the motor blew, pistons are all shot and the rings were gone.. soooo its project time! i found a T3/T4 Super 60 Turbo today with custom exhaust turbo manifold, tial 38mm wastegate, custom air to water intercooler with custom tank for ice and or water, 450cc injectors, and other tid bits. bought them and will be putting them on the motor, and we just bought the pistons (JE) and rods, and also were are gonna keep the supercharger. should be fun.. hoping for 300whp+ and now we are looking for a EMS. this is so much fun, i get to build something while i have no Z here.. keeps me busy. mike
Tim240z
What are you gonna use for gearbox and axles?
Guest ON3GO
im not sure on the axles, we are gonna try out the stock SI trany and see if it holds up, that or switch to a LS integra tranny (has taller gears). both are strong... we might just get some drag axles and call it a day. mike
b16crx
its good to know not everybody hates hondas. youd be surprised how much a stock honda transmission can handle, i've read that a lot of the top honda drag racers use the stock trans with custom axles. Moridin
Integra axles hold up to a bit of power. As long as you're not running slicks with a 2.0L motor you don't need much else from what I understand. The Quaiffe diff is awful nice for the tranny though. dsommer
ON3GO.... When are you going to get your car to Houston???? I mean you've been buying and building, captured another Z car in FLA but you still have no Z in TX, so what gives??? Is the green Z in Fla drivable? If it is why not ship it on over to TX and finish it up? You've spent countless $$$ on the car ( I know your're in school down there), Tuned other cars given advice, come up with some wicked ideas for "old school Z cars" but yet no Z in Texas... Tell us.... What's up, I'm dying to know. OK OK I just want to see that bad ass SOB tear up some rice. David
Guest ON3GO
well the green Z isnt done.. Alex is looking for a shop and he is also building motor/turbo kits for L6's based on what he is building for my Z. i cant wait to drive this car because im dieing driving my ranger... and plus my ranger is abought to blow up so im bummed out. this honda project is my friends but im helping him because it would get done faster with me and also im the one with the crazy ideas and connections lol. also another funny thing is... today we are starting another project.. my friend here has a 1993 240sx that we are dropping in a SR20 and a few mods.. so im keeping busy and keeping my mind of my Zcar is hellping me abit. also i know my next project car is gonna be a MKII Toyota MR2 Turbo.. got to drive one yesterday and drive around in it... and fell in love hehe. mike
