Okay... time to order the parts I'm gonna need to get my car back on the road after blowing my head gasket. I really want to go with a nissan made head gasket this time, and also am not going to skimp and buy some new head bolts instead of reusing them. Problem is, as expected, the nissan dealership prices are quite high, and the best alternative, Motorsport Auto, will save me quite a chunk of change if I order the parts from them. Here is the dilemma though, as I said, I REALLY want to use authentic Nissan parts this time, just for some added piece of mind. Now... as far as the headbolts go, I think there's really only one company that makes them for the L6 Turbo anymore, so I'm betting money that MSA is selling the same ones the dealer is selling, however there is a $30 price difference.

What I'm not so sure about, is the gasket. MSA wants about $25 for their head gasket, whereas nissan wants almost $70. I called MSA and the sales guy is claiming that theirs is an authentic Nissan part... but... I have heard stories before about them selling parts as "real nissan" and they actually were not. The worst case I heard of I think was Bryan Little (if any of you have seen his webpage about putting a 2.8 into a 240) who ordered a new set of rocker arms from MSA, was told they were nissan, and within like 30k miles they went bad and took his cam with them. He was later told confidently by one of their salespeople that they were the "Sealed Power" brand.

So... I was just wondering if any of you on here could confirm this for me one way or the other.... $45 is a big difference to pay for a gasket if it's the same part, and something tells me MSA could not possibly be selling that same part for so much less.

For Nissan Parts I would go through Courtesy Nissan or Pinnacle Nissan

Look up the parts you want and then call them. I needed a exhaust manifold for my truck, no used ones in the southeast. New one was $275 locally. Pinnacle had it on their web site for something like $160. I called and got it for about $140. With shipping and gaskets it was arount $180.
