little more hp from a 350 - any ideas?

I have an 89 350, from a burb, with stock bottom end and stock heads, Edelbrock performer intake, shorty headers, and a brand new 600cfm Edelbrock carb. Any ideas about increasing the hp/torque without digging in the motor?? What are some common cheap mods you guys have done or would recommend??

ABOUT how much power would this motor make as of now?

we need to know your REALISTIC hp goals and what the cars gearing,transmission and emission requirements are and all the other info you can give,what YOUR mechanical skills are,but generally headers, a free flow exhaust, increased compression,a cam swap and better flowing heads will give good results, look over these sights for ideas
