auxilary
hey guys, I'm redoing my engine bay (it's half black half orange, so I'm stripping it an coating it with por15). I'm familiar with por15, used it on some other stuff, but has anyone had any experience with the engine bay paint por15 sells? I'm running a rotary, and the thing makes 1400* at the exhaust ports, so things get really warm. I'm looking at this stuff: black velvet, 1200* http://www.por15.com/product.asp?productid=268 other high temp paints: http://www.por15.com/subcat.asp?id=4 However, I don't want to use aluminum, grey, or gloss black. I'd like to use semi-gloss black, so woudl regular por15 stand up to the task?
auxilary
Yeah, that's kind of right, but I was looking for a little more semi-gloss. It's near flat on that header though. Are there any other alternatives?
auxilary
damn, this is expensive over 100 bucks for just por15, topcoat, metal ready, por-strip, and thinner!!!
PETEW
I used the blackcote over a layer of POR15. It is the glossy top cote that will not change color. It isn't as protective as POR15 but will retain its glossy black finish. My engine bay looks just like it did a year ago.
