patzky1
HI all, when I start my JTR SBC '78 Z it will start fine then it'll die without fail after about 15 sec. of idling or sooner after bliping the throttle. What I think has happened is that the electric fuel pump works during cranking but not after that. Is this possible? If so, how should I wire the pump to give it power all the time (I'm not using the oil pressure relay) Thanks! Pat
Guest zfan
That is possible if you have it wired wrong. Power supply needs constant hot feed when running. You can always rewire, mine is wired from my painless fuse block with dedicated circuit. Mike
Guest Anonymous
You can wire it with a relay too off the wire that gives power to your HEI ignition, that one will stay hot with the key on only and will work fine. I agree, you're probably wired to the cranking circuit only somehow. Good luck with it. Regards, Lone
