Guest skittyscott
hey everybody, i really havent heard much about the difficulty of the wiring process. before i go and buy the jtr book, which i will do if i decide to swap it. before i make my decision to take on a swap, i was also wondering which z would be the best to start off with... would the 280 be the best because it already has EFI or would the 240 be better because it doesnt have EFI? is the chevy wiring harness almost completely self contained or does it splice into the datsun harness in a bunch of places? i have done a few swaps on hondas where the wiring got a little intense and i dont think i would want to do it again. thanx scott
Tim240z
Not difficult. Do a search in the high tech and misc. tech forums. The wiring has been explained very well. Tim
love-my-V8-280Z
Don't matter if you get a 240 or 280, I would do the 280 for several reasons. If you buy the motor everything you need is there. U will need to buy the Helms manual for the car you pick. Otherwise you don't tie the datsun wires together with the V8 harness. Per say. Of couse you need a ignition wire, and a always hot. I close to installing a LT1. was worried it was hard, just have to go slow and read. Terry
Guest skittyscott
i did not know that the search function was specific to which forum you were in... my bad
Tim240z
It isn't necessarily. Click on the search button at the top of the page. Type in your search words. Start with LT1 wiring. If you don't get enough hits, retry with just LT1. You can pick your forum from the drop down. Tim
