240Z28
Hey, Can the LT1 be installed even closer to the firewall than allowed by the JTR mounting plates? Has anyone changed the dimensions given by JTR to accomplish this? I want that motor as far back as possible! Thanks.
Tim240z
If you slot the mounts at the crossmember (per JTR), that's about as far back as you can go without getting into other problems, like bellhousing touching firewall, and shifter too far back. Guest Hudson's Hawk
Yeah Man....You'll have weight differential problems...vibration.....off balance on the darn car. It will feel like your engine is in your shoes...LOL...JTR and Johns Cars have the best kits then, MSA...Keep it realistic and practical. All ideas have been thought of and gone through...Don't recreate the wheel... Peace, Hudson's Hawk
PeterZ
We did a 92 corvette motor with a camaro 6-speed. Make a longer mount. Use 2" square tubing and triangulate after you set your distance.
