Guest bastaad525
Okay, I recently subscribed to motortrend magazine, and in my most recent issue, there was a small booklet attached inside. It is an excerpt from a book that has recently been published titled "Men of Metal". I can't really tell if it's intended to be a novel or what, but it's very 'Blair Witch'. By that I mean, it seems to take itself very seriously, and is presented as an accounting of actual things that have happened, written by a journalist, it doesn't come across as a novel at all. It's basically talking about recent sitings of real life "Transformers" robots, made from the new Mini. I know some of you are laughing just from reading that. Me... I always try to be openminded about everything, and it's pretty convincingly written. I intend on picking up the full book soon. Anyways, along with some very interstesting pics inside the novel-lett, is a web adress: http://www.r50rd.co.uk/research/internal/v2i/engin/ This is apparently the website of the guy who is designing the "Mini-bot". Kind of odd for something so high tech to be so blatantly displayed on an easily accessed website... and of course with no media attention (that I know of) I immediately start to think the thing is all fake. There are even some video clips... of course, with todays advanced computer graphics, and the fact that it only runs in a small quicktime window, it's pretty hard to tell if it's computer generated or what. Anyways I know some of you guys have a sharper eye than mine (remember the Ford Ka cat commercial? Sure looked real to me!!!) so maybe you can spot some telltale sign of this thing being fake?? Sure seems like a lot of trouble to go thru to sell a book... especially this kind of book which isn't something that would have a harry potter level of widespread appeal.... Guest bastaad525
man if it's fake that's totally whack.... why go thru so much trouble to publicize a book 90% of people probably couldn't care less about? That's a lot of money to invest for advertising for a book, a fake-u-mentary no less!
Guest Vashe
Give me a couple years to finsh all my degrees, and I'll build the first Z Transformer car! It can be done, and just think like this. "My robot's got 400 HP and LASER Beams!" *drools*

Phyte
Quicktime works great on my Mac However Internet Explorer is the worst piece of software for Mac. Think there's a little hate between the two groups Phyte
Guest bastaad525
I dont dislike mac's, having owned both mac and pc, I just didn't see what was so great about the mac. It IS more stable, for sure, than crappy windows, and more user friendly... but for me this really does not apply as I've learned the ins and outs of windows very thoroughly... enough that I can easily make it do whatever I want it to do, really... you just gotta know where to look. Macs are easier to figure out I guess. But, when it comes down to it, even with them being pretty popular now, the software for them is just so limited compared to what's available for PC. And I honestly can't think of one thing that you can do on Mac that you can't do on PC, or that mac does so much better. People often tell me that multimedia stuff runs better on the mac. I am a musician/singer/songwriter and have had a mac based and now a pc based home mini-studio. I have run similar or same brand music recording and editing software on each platform, and really didn't see what made the mac better... or worse. I dont know why people get into the stupid rivalries... a computer is a computer
