Guest zmepro Posted April 17, 2004 Share Posted April 17, 2004 Few questions about the L28ET (280 turbo engine) what kind of turbo does it have? and what could i replace it with? what is the boost set at stock? how much whp and wtrq does it produce? how much power can it make on stock internals? how much can the tranny (re200 i think?) take? Most common upgrade is to replace the compressor side of the turbo only, leaving the turbine stock, to make a T3/O4. That turbo is easily good to make more power than the stock EFI or stock motor internals can handle, I believe, or close to it. Boost on stock 280zxt's is usually set to 6 or 7psi. Stock 280zxt's have dynoed around 150rwhp and 170rwtq. Stock block is said to be good to about 350rwhp or so. I dont know the limits on the stock tranny or diff.
