Everything you wish you knew about R230 VLSD vs. R200 VLSD

I wanted to start a new topic here with links to other good threads on the subject since it seems to come up a lot. Also, I have been reading up on the R230 here and was still unaware of a few things. For example, I wish I knew the the early VLSD in the Q45 pre-97 was an R200 but used 6 bolt flanges. I had my rear suspension completely finished until I got the R230 from a 1994 300ZXTT.

Thanks Maichor,

 

At least with pics members can now see how physically larger the R230 diff actually is when they are looking for it. There most certainly has been some confusion over these two short nose diffs.

 

To those that have access to Skyline diffs maybe we will get them clarified eventually too, I'm working on it. Neil
