383 240z
You will find a buch of info here also. http://www.torquecentral.com hop to the v8-rx7 fourum. You will see a few people badmouth grannys speedshop. I used their kit on my rx-7 V8 conversion and was very pleased with the quality and design. They do have a problem with the conversion for the 3rd gen cars with LT1 and LS1 motors but the early cars 79-85 and 86-92 with the standard SBC are a cakewalk!! You can see mine at http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/rx7260z/lst?.dir=/V-8+RX-7&.view=t Good luck. Keith
Guest 240Zduz10s
383 240Z wow i didnt think there were more than a handful of v8 rx7's out there.. i bough my 82 just to put a v8 in it thinking i would be original.. what was the hardest part about your rx7 swap? is grannys kit decent? ive heard a few bad things but mostly good stuff on the quality and fitment. would you consider selling the rx7 ?? 383 240z
The hardest part was convincing the wife that this was a good idea. She is a rotory purist. She bought her 85 GSL-SE and was upset when I started modding it. But after it was done she loved it. I changed to a piston motor after I blew my 4th rotor motor in six years. I think the fit and quality of Grannys parts was very good but I would not buy the whole kit. The shipping was fast and the price was what I was quoted. The problem most people seem to have was with his stuff for LT1 and LS1 motors into Gen 3 cars. Big money and poor fitment. As for if I would sell it of course nothing last for ever write a big enough check and I'll sell just about anything!!! Keith
BLKMGK
Some interesting flame wars on the V8 RX7 forums there. Pretty informative site overall though! Neat as a V8 RX7 sounds I have to admit I've been pining for a 240SX with a nice JDM engine swap. Neat cars, drive the correct wheels, and decent power with an engine swap. Too many projects Good link though, thank you!
