Guest Chevelle7d2
I found a 383 LT1 that has the following done to it: -1994 T/A block -Eagle 4340 forged 3.75" crank -Eagle forged 6" H-beam rods -SRP forged flat top pistons (10.6:1 compression ratio) -heads were done by a local machine shop like a stage 2 setup (mild port/bowl work oversize valves) -CC305 cam, 220/230 duration @.050, .510/.510 lift (.544/.544 w/ 1.6 rockers) 114* LSA What for horsepower do you think this will be laying down?? He's asking for a stock LT1 and $2800 for the 383 motor.. what do ya guys think?
dmyntti
Check around to see what the parts cost to make a 383 LT1 with similiar parts. That CC305 is an awful small cam for a 383. As for the head porting it would depend on how good the machine shop was at porting LT1 heads. You could always ask for the flowbench numbers for the heads, if he can't get those then I would be concerned about the head work.
Heavy Z
Word on the street lately is the LS1, look up Mas280 and Tim240z - both have recently posted info worth looking over.
Guest Chevelle7d2
yeah well considering Ive already got the LT1 mounts in the car.. its tempting to just stick with the LT1.
Heavy Z
In that case a 383 LT1 would look great in your Z.
Guest iskone
Not knowing what they did to the heads(good work?) I'd say 375hp You need the head flow numbers! With out them or a dyno sheet it isn't worth the money.
