Guest Anonymous
A friend Brian has a 1987 RX-7 with an LT1/700r4 combo. Not very fast as that model is a fat heavy car! How heavy is heavy? Mine weighed in at 2960# with every option I wanted.. A/C (installed but not plumbed), Heat, Power Steering, Stereo, FMIC, TurboII wheels, 57# battery, sunroof ect ect.. I thought the '87's were pretty light.
Guest BigE
Yeah, that LT1 944 is a sweet car. I've seen it at the Pelham Wal-Mart Cruise In. If you want to see a vicious RX-7 swap, check out http://www.thewrongmotor.com I would love to do that with my 90 GXL.
383 240z
I take offense to the quote 87 rx-7 as a fat heavy car! I love mine and I love it much more with the 350/700r4 combo in it. I did the whole swap in a few monthes working only a few hours a week!! And I did it for less than the cost of a new ported rotor motor!! Under 2 grand total!!! here are a bunch of photos of it. http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/rx7260z/lst?.dir=/V-8+RX-7&.view=t There is a hood scoop being built right now, the hood won't stay like that!! I thought z car purists were a tough bunch(I was "tossed" from 2 z clubs for converting mine) until I cut up my rx-7 those rotor heads are REAL TOUGH but the real car guys I hang out with dont care what it "was" or how it "looks" as long as it is FAST Keith P.S. for anybody interested in this swap stopover at http://www.torquecentral.com/ and hop to the v8rx7 board there are a bunch of very helpful poeple there. Scottie GNZ has even shown up ther as of late!!
