Guest Cronic
I replaced my injector clips and everything was happy for about 20 miles, then all the sudden the car feels like shit. It bogs and such as soon as I step on the gas or get any kind of boost going to it. The narrowband A/F Guage goes straight red, and off the gauge at this time. Now I've rechecked the wiring, the car idles, and I believe they are all hooked up to the proper cylinders... What else could this be?? wigenOut-S30
did you solder the new clips in or did you clamp them in? I replaced mine when I put the turbo motor in and had a slight problem with it missing on one cly. I found that the clip was not all the way on.. I unhooked it and cliped it back on and it smoothed out. This does not sound like your Z is doing this though. Could it be something else? I would try cleaning the contacts of the ECU as well as the AFM and the fuseable links. At least that will be a good start.
Guest Cronic
Solder, and I've cleaned the connections to just about everything... The car's old, and tired.... I just love it too much to give it up. 160K miles, original engine, 1983.

Guest Cronic
It started up again a couple days ago, and I can't figure it out. Im sure this has nothing to do with the clips... Im thinking either the regulator or the MAF is going bad. I pulled the vac line from the regulator and the idle went up. So I assume that's good. I dont know how to test the MAF. So I think I'm going to the junk yard this weekend to pick up a used one... Anyone else have any ideas?
innerware
I had a similiar problem after I replaced my clips too. It was the wires that went to the temp sender and thermotime switch that also needed replacing. I could be driving along and it would choke up and die. If I moved the wires sometimes it would do the same thing. So I replaced them and the problem went away. I know you can buy the little harness that they come on. I got mine from The Z doctors in Richmond CA. I think you can order from them. Just make sure you don't mix up and cross the wires. It doesn't like to start when cold then. Hopefully this helps a little.
