Guest TempestasZ
got a few questions.... where is the cheapest place to get a jags that run book? do they still provide parts? wondering what the cheapest way to go about a driveshaft is. MSA sells one for 250, not too aweful bad of a price. right now im still just doing body work, sick of my ugly z31 and want to start something with more potential before i sink more money in the 87na (with turbo swap). I have milked a 12.80@110.5 out of it with stock turbo and injectors with open diff and street tires, could do stuff like slicks, lsd, and nos and get better times, but then i would just break more transmitions than i allready do (i have gone through 2 rear ends,4 trannys, and physicaly broke a cluthmaster's stage 4...yes im hard on the poor thing) yeah, this is getting long... well this is the motor im buiding 350 with forged flat tops, l98 alum. vette heads with a real nice port and polish job, with all the cam, intake, header goodies... gonna use a th350 tranny for now, t56 would be nice later. if i can get that to hook up and im not satisfied with the power, ill spray 100HP nitrous on it to get it breathing... hoping to make a good handling, good looking, and faster car, but i will allways keep my 87, shes my first love..er first car
Guest Anonymous
Doesn't sound like a bad deal.http://www.jagsthatrun.com is the place that I bought my manual. That's the only place that has them I believe. You might check E-Bay though. As far as I know, they still carry the conversion parts.I am going to get my shaft from MSA also, that's the only place that I know of to get one.It will cost you way over $250 to get it custom made.Good Luck! Guest Anonymous
Place a wanted ad in this forum for a JTR manual or surf eBay or the fastest is: (JTR)1-925-462-3619.. You have a drive shaft made from between $50.00 to $200 depending how well you shop around After you install the engine and transmission and measure the required length between the diff and tranny. have a drive shaft made or buy the complete MSA kit which is different than the complete JTR kit which is different than the John's Cars conversion kit.. The local Pick and Pull quoted me $20.00 on a complete GM Driveline. You will need the GM driveline and a pinion adapter flange for the rear diff, Neapco 2-2-899-There is currently a JTR kit on eBay.. check the BUY sell trade and look for the JTR kit on Ebay Keep in mind that drive shafts for v8 conversions vary greatly depending on the engine motor mount position and transmission selection
Guest trickz
you need to locate a drive trane or power-trane shop in your area. take your old shaft (z car)and the yoke from your tranny. they will need a measurement from yoke to yoke (they will tell you how/where to take this from). then take it to them and let them make a shaft that fits. forget that adaptor!!!!! o yea get the shop to ballance the shaft! if they say you don`t need it,trust me go somewhere else. trick z
Guest Anonymous
Hey Tomahawk,Is that the whole part# for the U joint adapter? pparaska
The correct part number for the Neapco/Spicer flange yoke is 2-2-899-1. The -1 is important! The 2-2-899 is for a smaller u-joint.
Guest Anonymous
Cannot get nothing past you Pete P... I had the - (dash) but left off the 1 to the Neapco part #.
