Guest Fred P Posted July 12, 2004 Share Posted July 12, 2004 Hi list, My auto tranny let go on my 86 z 31, I'm tossing around the idea of putting in a SBC 350 /Th 350 in I have laying around. Anyone on here ever do it? I saw an article on Sport Z magazine, at least one was done. Any input on getting motor/ tranny mounts? Another major hurdle I will have to plan on is passing emissions. In Rhode Island it has to meet or exceed the specs of an 86 300 ZX. The engine I have is like a 77, carburated. This is another issue which must be dealt with in advance. Well I should have some direction on that before I start. Also the digital dash is already toast so I'd need to custom fit speedo and gauges. That probably won't be that hard. Last issue of concern right now will be the heater/ air control.... Mostly for defogger. Any an all input is greatly appreciated. Oh the 74 Hybrid in my signature didn't quite get built.
