No fuel! Getting gas to the carbs mechanical fuel pump

Just thought I'd share my info here for future reference.

 

I put new rocker arms and a cam in my Z. It had been sitting a while so I was wondering if the tank was rusty and why I wasnt getting any fuel.

 

So I replaced the filter and saw that there was only a little in it. What's wrong? I go out and buy a new fuel pump. Still no gas? WTF....

 

It was actually simpler than I thought. The engine wasn't turning fast enough to get gas to the engine. So I poured some gas into the carbs and it started up breifly. After doing this a couple of times it started running off the tank.

 

Just my expirience... may come in handy for those having problems now or in the future!
