Jersey
Hey all. Does anyone know if the T5 out of the 84-86 300ZXT's are any different, inside and/or outside, than the T5's out of the 82-83ZXT's? My cousin just blew his '82 T5 and he picked up another but i think it's out of a 84-86ZXT. Just wondering if it'll bolt up to the L28. Thanks in advance. Doug71zt
I'm pretty sure that the input shaft is different (longer) in the Z31 box. Not sure about the rest of the internals. Hope this helps - Doug
Guest Carrman
As I have posted before, the 2 tranny's DO NOT interchange. Input shaft spline count and length is different, and gear ratios are different. You can not mix and match gear sets in the, as the countershaft's gears are part of the shaft, and are not replaceable. I learned all this when my T5 blew up in my '75 turbo car.
