Guest Brian260ZT
Howdy z friends.. it's been a few years. I'm starting back on my 260 and wanted to get the alternator conversion done and I noticed that the ZcarCreations.com site is gone. Does anyone have a copy of their instructions? Edit: Search is your friend. http://hybridz.org/nuke/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=28835&highlight=alternator Any clue as to what has happened to Z Car Creations? Thanks a ton, Brian
2126
Brian, I've done the conversion you mentioned. Unfortunitely, I have CRS (can't remember shit). However, try going to the Classic Zcar Club site and do a search there. I believe you will find what you are looking for. Good lord, I may get chastized for making that suggestion. Anyway, I'll look through my notes tonight and see what I can provide you with. I do remember one little item......after I completed my conversion I started the car and was really happy with the results until I went to turn the car off. Well, it wouldn't turn off!!! Oh crap, I thought to myself. Whats wrong now? As it turned out, I had forgotten to install the little ziener diode in the circuit. Installed it......been working perfectly ever since. Talk at you later. Tom

2126
Brian, If you tried Classic Zcar Club's site did you register first? I looked in my files and I have exactly the same info as on the Classic Zcar Club's site I mentioned. I tried the search (alternator conversion) and it came right up. Let me know what transpires. Guest bastaad525
I'm surprised I didn't leave links in that post of mine... sorry well if you have any questions I believe I remember the details on how to do it. It's been great... I was blowing alternators like one every 2 weeks - 2 months, most likely because the new style external regulators that places like Auto Zone sell are junk, or so goes the common oppinion. After doing the swap to a turbo alternator, a USED, OLD alternator at that, I've had NO problems for a lonnnnnng time now.
Guest Franey
ZSpecialties has internal regulator alternators for about 150, check their website.
Guest Brian260ZT
I already have an internally regulated alternator. Thanks anyways! Just for reference, I'm using an 83ZXT alternator.
