Guest ON3GO
holy hell. 1st off let me say i would be still taking out the driveshaft bolts if it wasnt for my friend Chris. heres the low down. plan was to swap in a L28ET in a 77 280Z in a tad under 2 days. Mods are: ScottieGNZ downpipe 77 Harness and ECU JSK fuel rail SVO 370cc injectors Conquest fmic Vortech FMU Walbro 255lph fuel pump Autometer Gauges 240sx t-body and a few other things.. well thats what was planed to be installed.. i think we only got the fuel rail and injectors and downpipe installed lol. 1st day went smooth and fast. Got the motor, driveshaft, tranny and all other needed parts out of the Z. fixed some wiring and painted the engine bay. Put in the turbo motor, with a Nissan Motorsports turbo clutch and flywheel in the 280Z tranny. day went smooth like i said and we got alot done too. 2nd day Pure hell broke loose!!! couldnt find bolts for the exhaust and intake manifolds, took forever. then couldnt get the exhaust and intake manifold to get on, took forever. Then Modifed the 280Z distrib to fit the turbo motor. put on new cap and rotor, plugs, wires, etc on. it was getting late so we just used the stock t-body and etc. well it was pretty much all done, well not all but enough done so we can start it up to see if it ran. well 1st crank and all you hear is CLUNK... try again... CLUNK.. CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK.. sounded like the motor was like seized.. freaked me the F out. so we started thinking and broke it down to this.. motor wasnt turning over because something in the tranny area was hitting. either the n/a starter we were using wasnt lining up with the turbo parts. clutch/flywheel was hitting inside the bellhousing. or we were in deep shat. so chris started taking out the tanny bolts and etc.. i took started to take out the slave cyl bolts and we tried to turn the motor again. well it moved abit this time so we started thinking again... well after about a few hours of all this we found out that the slave cyl bolts were too long and were hitting the clutch/flywheel and wouldnt let the motor to turn over. fixed that with smaller bolts and it turned over nice. well after that and getting a few other things done and runing into a few other problems we started it again. ran rough but we had no piping on it, no tps, not alot of things hooked up and vacuum leaks... so we were in good shape that it even ran some what like that. by this time it was getting late and we already had a fire start in the garage, so chris said to get it running lets just do a J pipe and no intercooler for now. cool with me, after about a hour of looking for this J bend we had he desided to make his own. well the piping came out ok but when we tried to start it we got no spark. turns out that the piping was laying on a capaster or however its spelled. took the piping over and it cranked over. we then desided it was getting late and etc so he drove me home and we can start on it again tomorrow or so. man these swaps arent really all that easy. ill say one thing though, i can take off a driveshaft in 1 min flat now that ive done it like 10 times today.. lol... im the driveshaft master!!! but maybe by saturday it will be done, motor sounded health and it looks damn nice. all parts will be installed now too.. still gotta do the intake manifold and t-body. also the JSK fuel rail is really sweet, works awesome and really looks sweet in the engine bay! want to say thanks to chris for everything! pics soon, and maybe even a running Z soon too! lol Mike a

Cody 82 ZXT
My wife always ask me how long I think something will take and then doubles it to get a real estimate. Glad to hear that it's working.
