Guest Cronic
Okay, usually this only happens after the car has set for a while, say all night, or a full day... but when I turn the key, I cannot hear the pump click on... after several minuites of sitting with the ignition on, it will kick on and I can drive... Sometimes however, it will shut off while driving, and this is really annoying! Also it has freaked out before, turning on and off and on, over and over... Im assuming this is a similar problem to the "main relay" in a honda, which is the main fuel relay for the pump, WHERE is this located? It sounds like it's near the passenger side firewall, under the dash somewhere above the blower motor... Anyone know for sure?
evildky
the fuel pump relay is green and located on the passanger kickpanel up above the bottom of the dash, and it's triggered by the afm, I had a similar problem once when my afm stuck in the open position, check that the afm door is not opened

Guest 2slo4u
Mine did all of those same things every now and then, until I swapped to the 300zx ecu and mas instead of the afm. Has not acted up since the swap. 81zxturbo 95slobaru
