Guest 305240
I'm running a 72 240 with flairs. I have G60x14's on the rear. I also have about 2 to 3" clearance above the tires. The other day I discovered each rear spring had a set of twist in spacers in them. Well now, they just won't do. My question is, can I use a 280 spring? I'm assuming they have a higher spring rate. Any help would be appreciated to get the rear of my car in the air. Not down as so many people want.
nullbound
a 280 spring on 240 struts will raise your car. that's how my car was raised originally to allow for a 27" diameter tire. depending on how much you need/want to raise, just changing the spring hats from 240 to 280 will give you about 0.75". Guest 305240
Ok, If I change to 280 springs and use the 280 hats, how much rise can I expect? I'm hoping for 2 to 3" over the tire so it won't rub my flairs. The car isn't being built for auto cross or anything like that. I just want it to look like an old style street machine.
