80LS1T
I was trimming back my bird nest tonight and I cam to the I.C. Ignition Unit wires there are 2 Brown and Blue (I think???). What are those for and do I need them for my LT1? Guy
Guest greimann
Those wires were originally for the ignition module. The blue one is for the tachometer signal. Trace the blue one back, and it eventually goes into a resistor and comes out as LGW (light green, white). The LGW wire traces to the tach. I took the resistor out of the line on my install with an HEI distributor, and just spliced the L and LGW wires together. The BR (brown) wire, which eventually is spliced into a BW (black, white) wire is the positive voltage to the coil. On my HEI, I connect that directly to the + terminal on the cap. Your LT1 may need all of these to terminate to the computer, I don't know LT1 stuff.

Guest greimann
Page 220 in the Haynes manual spells it all out. Also page 124.
