New Z on the Way

Phantom

Recommended Posts

September 4th my wife and I are flying up to Kansas city to take possession of a 1993 300ZX convertible. First convertible we've ever had and we're really looking forward to enjoying it. It will put the Z stable back up to two at the house since I gave the 280Zx to my younger son.

Car has a few minor cosmetic items to correct but mechanically it is a rock. It has a relatively new transmision (automatic), new rear main seal, new timing belt, water pump, and accessory belts. It has new NAPA Monroe shocks all around and less than 2,000 miles on a set of Bridgestone Potenza S03 tires.

Interestingly, this is the first 300ZX convertible my wife had ever seen. It was at the Branson Z Fest this past summer where we met the owners who just recently decided to sell it. She fell in love with it at the time not knowing it would eventually be hers. :-D

Jeez Phantom, one bad Z is just not enough in your family I guess!!! that being said, I have always thought the Z32 drop top is a classy ride, much better than the current Z33 "roadster" I have looked for a clean MT example myself more than once, even going so far as dragging my wife into downtown Houston to drive what I would call a project (although it wasn't sold as such) I think that a Z32 convert will make a great daily/sunshine driver, and wish you good luck with your new purchase...

P.S. Jerry at all Z specialists said I should meet up with you, as your car is the baddest "street" Z he's seen!

David,

Actually probably not. I won't be taking any vacation but I may stop by where everyone is Saturday night if I have time. We want time to 'gently' cruise back to DFW and enjoy some of the sites along the way.

If you and Lisa are able to attend let me know and we'll definitely make the time to stop by and say hello.

Bill

Chris,

Get on http://www.autotrader.com. There are some really sweet Z32 convertibles for sale on there right now. One only has 25,000 miles on it and has been kept in an airconditioned garage. Another has only 56,000 miles and comes with a 5yr/100,000 mile warranty from the date you purchase it. They were both more than I wanted to spend -especially since my car will be my wife, Chris', daily driver and will be doing a lot of shopping duty. :-D

Anytime you're in the DFW area you're more than welcome to stop by and get introduced to the 280Z28. Let me know ahead of time so I can be sure to be around and that the car is not in the shop. It's still going through a series of 'upgrades'. Still sorting out brakes and the going to be working on the interior and sound system.
