Guest ON3GO
ok.. i installed my Walbro 255 pump yesterday. IT WONT TURN OFF! i take the key out and it stays on. now maybe once it will turn off but like a sec or so later it turns on again. another thing is shouldnt fuel pressure be stable? not all jumpy on the gauge? mines all jumpy and the needle never stays still. any help at all would be great mike
fl327
its not uncommon to see a fuel pressure guage kinda "vibrate" but stay at its set pressure. If its jumping high to low id check for blockage via fuel filter or possibly bad ground. How do you have fuel pump hooked up?
Guest ON3GO
i just used the stock wires to hook the pump up. also what ya mean bad ground? its a mechicanl fuel pressure gauge. mike

Guest ON3GO
.. ??? could it be a fuel pump relay? thats what im thinking. mike
Guest 2slo4u
Sounds like whatever turns the fuel pump relay on is still sending juice to the relay when you turn the key off. Did you do the z31 ecu swap? When I did mine, I used the ignition 12v and the ground output from the ecu to turn on the fuel relay. That way even if the ground output stayed on somehow when I turned the key off, the ignition 12v+ will always turn off and the relay won't stay on after turning the key off. Check the two small wires that turn the relay on with a voltmeter to see if they are still recieving 12v when the key is off. If they are, you might have to wire them differently.
