80LS1T
I was trying to figure out how to mount my radiator tonight and the only thing that I cam up with is that I should use rubber mounts of some sort. I have the Griffin 26x19 for my 1980 280ZX and the Taruis fan. Can you clue me in on how you mounted this??? Thanks, Guy
Guest Anonymous
Guy... I threw the JTR to the side and made my Griffin Mounts for the 280 Z with 1/8 by 1 inch angle iron for the one bolt top and one bolt on each side lower mount. 2 Pictures web page I made the angle iron frame to fit without touching the radiator. I cut and pressure fit a strip of 1 inch rubber into the Griffin upper and lower channels which my angle iron frame fits over.
Guest greimann
The radiator sits on wood and rubber blocks, that rest on the TC rod brackets. The radiator is held in place by the "sandwich" action of the fan and radiator support . There is heavy, closed cell foam lining all of the contact preiphery between the radiator and the radiator support, and rubber bulb seal trim on the Taurus fan, where it contacts the core. The fan is held in place with custom brackets that I made from 2x2 steel angle that attach to the frame rails. Check the link below for a couple of pictures. Make sure you completely isolate the radiator from any other sheetmetal or other hard object, that over time, could chafe a hole in a tube or tank. http://home.earthlink.net/~dvgreimann/details.html
