Guest butlersZ
WOO HOO!!! Just finished hooking up all the misc. stuff to get my Z going, IT RUNS!!! DAMNIT!!!! My rebuilt Holley 600 is leaking at the secondary butterfly shaft, both sides! Is there a particular reason for this leaking other than the bushings/seals not being installed correctly? They went in smooth but leak like a sieve.

Guest butlersZ
When I rebuilt my 600 everything went together real smoothly, a little too smooth you know.
Guest tony78_280z
Is it leaking while the engine is running? I know there are no gaskets there and the vaccum keeps the fuel from coming out of those holes. I was pumping gas through my accel pump repeatedly and saw gas oozing out of the primary butterfly shaft. I supose if you have mechanical 2nds the same thing could happen to you. Here is a good holley webpage --> http://www.bob2000.com/carb.htm -T
BrandonsZ
I see your problem, you are using a ford part (Holley), please replace it with GM eq. like Edlebrock performer 600 or Q-jet 600. Problem solved.
