Guest jjohart
Hi, I bought and had wired the F1 rear spoiler sold on Motorosport's site. I haven't called them yet, since I thought someone who's a wiring wiz might tell me an effective fix. It seems the rear brake light on the spoiler (buncha tiny leds) is tricking off the warning display in the center instrument cluster, giving me the red square for "stop light" (bulb failure). I don't really want to get an electrical degree to wire in some kind of resistor, so is there a particular wire somewhere in the car where that particular stop light sensor plugs in, that I can pull out or plug onto something else, and turn off that warning light, even if that means no rear brake light failure display feature? Please be specific, use color of wire to look for, exact place to cut/reaffix. Thanks in advance. John
BleachZee
The brake light sensor I know of is the little box under the passenger seat. There are two electrical connections there. One is for the brake lights, the other is for cruise control. But, you can't remove it. The lights run through that box. If you remove it you will have no more brake or rear running lights at all. If you remove the box and straight wire the connection to go through, then you will be the first to do so. It may or may not work.
